The Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies serves an incredibly diverse body of multigenerational learners, including veterans, teachers, non-profit executives, new college graduates, career changers and advancers, and English language learners. They range in age from three to 101, and there is not a sector of our workforce they are not impacting. For all this diversity, they share a need for education and access. With your help, we can solve for both.
Our vision is to enable and accelerate Houston's success as a 21st-century metropolis, champion educational equity, and attract and serve a student body that reflects Houston as a diverse, multicultural city. To do this, we will strengthen rigorous teacher preparation and professional development in public schools through the Center for Education. We will invest in our nonprofit industries that are so vital to the success of our city through our Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. And we will create a new level of access and inclusion through student grants and by expanding OpenRICE, our dynamic, free-access online learning platform.
With your help, we will:
- Provide scale to the Center for Education to strengthen rigorous teacher preparation and professional development in public school education.
- Sustain and enhance the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.
- Provide access to students all over Houston and from all backgrounds by increasing student financial support and expanding OpenRICE.
