The Shepherd School of Music stands at a critical inflection point after 45 years of musical excellence. With the recent completion of the Brockman Music and Performing Arts Center — a dynamic venue of performance spaces, rehearsal halls and state-of-the-art classrooms — the school is poised to inspire the next generation of students and faculty toward achieving new musical aspirations.
We will continue to capitalize on Rice University’s extraordinary momentum by investing in merit-based scholarships to keep competing with the nation’s top music schools for the best undergraduate and graduate students. We will expand our outreach initiatives on campus and beyond to create greater access to our musical programs, while diversifying our audiences. And we will position Rice University as the regional hub for the development and presentation of emerging artists and artistic collaborators.
